My services

When I sold Deana Morgan Academy in 2018 most people assumed I had decided to hang up my leg warmers and retire. Well, that's never likely to happen as dance is in my blood. So I'm still dancing, teaching, coaching and choreographing but most definitely on my terms  . .  read on.

ADJUDICATING

I could sit and watch children dance all day  . .  and do so very often from really early in the morning until very late in the evening.

My adjudicating philosophy is to give children & parents an honest appraisal of where the dancer is at and then try to pin point that one area for improvement.

My feedback is sensitive, caring, nurturing and above all honest.

I witness and encourage children to grow in confidence and stature AND technique as longer competitions progress.

M1ND

I have recently become a M1ND instructor and deliver this easy-to-follow mindful workout.

M1ND workouts are zero impact and the ideal entry point for older populations or those brand new to working out.

For regular exercisers, M1ND workouts are perfect for recovery days, or general human optimisation - making you more mobile & functional and complimenting all other types of exercise.

If you've never been keen on a mind/body

type of class, I urge you to try this, as it's completely different to what you may have seen before!

coaching

Preparing for a vital exam? Audition? Competition? Or maybe you just need to hone your dance skills.

I teach face to face and online. Please DM me to discuss your needs and let's get started.

I am thrilled to also be teaching on the Academy Adult programme at Northern Ballet.

PRODUCING

Whilst running DMA I loved "showtime" and our school productions became more and more lavish as time went on.  In 2013 to celebrate my 50th birthday I hired the Alhambra Theatre to stage "One Night Only!" and such was the success of this that I decided to stage it again although even bigger and better.  This time at the London Palladium!

Since then I have produced many shows for professional artists most notably Craig Halliday, a crossover violinist from Bradford.

My next venture will be a show at Bradford Cathedral as part of Bradford 2025: UK City of Culture and will see classical pianist Mauro Bertolino  perform a sublime evening of classical greats.  His skill and virtuosity is astounding.

teaching

A regular deliverer at various Associate programmes across Yorkshire I love to check in with the children on these schemes at least once a year as a guest teacher.

I also occasionally to cover when teachers and principals are under pressure and need a teacher to stand in, often last minute so please reach out.

choreography

I occasionally step in to help with competition and show choreography. I'm well aware that these things can become overwhelming and can stop the creative flow.

All theatre dance subjects covered but my particular focus is character dance, classical ballet, tap & traditional jazz.

BUSINESS ADVICE

Since selling my own school I am often contacted by teachers who find themselves in the same position but have no idea where to start. Please call me for an informal chat about how to get started and where to go for expert advice.  You will need a good accountant and solicitor who will guide you through the small print once you decide you want to proceed but in the first instance a quick chat can help you decide what is right for you and your business.

Having been involved in all aspects of the dance industry from a very young age and across lots of different areas I am often called upon to lend support and advice on all matters pertaining to coaching, business development, project management and quite simply sharing my knowledge and experiences.

If you are thinking of expanding your dance business, developing a new idea be that a competition, event or new dance programme I am available to lend an independent ear and to assist with promotion and recruitment.
